Should Vet Med have mid levels?

On this episode of Pawsit Dr. Sam and Dr. Robert discuss the new proposal in Colorado to create "mid-level" veterinary professionals. Prop 129 in Colorado is the proposition that sparked this conversation. In veterinary medicine our technicians operate much like human nurses, and then some. Do we really need to add this new position? Will this solve the problem of access to care, or cause new unintended consequences?
